Conscripts not involved, not to be involved in special operation in Ukraine - Putin

MOSCOW. March 8 (Interfax) - Conscripts are not involved and will not be involved in the special military operation in Ukraine, and there will be no call-up of reservists, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"Soldiers who are doing conscription service are not involved and will not be involved in military action. There will be no additional call-up of reservists, either," Putin said in his video address to women on the occasion of March 8, published on the Kremlin site.

He also said payments for children aged between eight and 16 inclusive will be introduced for all low-income families.

"I believe you need to make a new decision, introduce payments for children aged between eight and 16 inclusive, I emphasize, for all low-income families, support them. This measure will start working on April 1, and families will get the first payments in May," Putin said.

"The state will do everything to support families, it's our unconditional priority," Putin said.
