Russian Central Bank notes slowdown in operations of FPS because of rising DDoS attacks
MOSCOW. March 5 (Interfax) - The Central Bank of Russia (CBR) has noted a slowdown in the operations of the Faster Payment System (FPS) owing to rising DDoS attacks on the channels of telecoms providers, though this will not affect the security of the funds, the regulator said in a statement.
"At the moment, owing to increasing DDoS attacks on the channels of telecoms providers, a short-term slowdown in the operations of the Fast Payments System is possible. Some operations may be slower, or they will need to be repeated after a while. This does not affect the security of the funds," the regulator said.
The operational payment and clearing center FPS JSC NSPK is interacting with telecoms providers on the current situation, the Central Bank noted.
