Some 400 people evacuated from Volnovakha - head of Donetsk region's Kyiv-appointed administration
KYIV. March 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Around 400 people have been evacuated from Volnovakha and nearby villages in the Donetsk region, head of the Donetsk region's Kyiv-appointed military administration Pavlo Kyrylenko said.
"Some 400 residents of Volnovakha and nearby villages have been evacuated today. These are those who managed the day before to reach a populated locality outside which a column of evacuation vehicles stopped," Kyrylenko said during a television program on Saturday.
He said that it was initially planned to evacuate a much larger number of people by today.
"All those evacuated are being transported to a safe place," Kyrylenko said.
There were plans to evacuated more than 15,000 people from Volnovakha.
