Over 90 St. Petersburg residents arrested, fined for participating in unpermitted demonstration

ST. PETERSBURG. March 4 (Interfax) - St. Petersburg courts have accepted more than 150 administrative cases against protesters detained at an unpermitted demonstration on March 3, the joint press service of the city's courts reported on Friday.

As of 9:30 p.m. on Friday, the courts received 152 cases and handed down rulings on 105 of them.

In particular, courts gave up to 15 days of administrative arrests to 29 people, fined 63 others up to 20,000 rubles, and ordered community work for another four demonstrators.

The courts also closed two cases, returned seven for eliminating legal deficiencies, and deferred the hearing of one case, it said.
