Belarus intends to expand exports to China, other Asian countries

MINSK. March 4 (Interfax) - The Belarusian Trade Ministry has tasked the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) with diversifying exports of Belarusian goods, with an emphasis placed on China, the exchange's press service said.

"Special significance needs to be attached to the utilization of the exchange's potential in the foreign trade sector. Above all, this implies the diversification of exports of Belarusian goods, with an emphasis placed on the People's Republic of China and other Asian countries, as well as the development of such a promising trend as transit transactions," Energy Minister Alexei Bogdanov said while visiting the exchange's central office.

"One of the primary goals of the exchange now is to provide assistance to Belarusian enterprises both as concerns reducing costs for acquiring raw materials and promoting their goods for export," he said.
