Shoigu, Guterres agree to step up humanitarian interaction on Ukraine - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. March 4 (Interfax) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres agreed on stepping up interaction for humanitarian work in Ukraine in a telephone call, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

Guterres thanked Shoigu for facilitating the evacuation of UN personnel from Ukrainian territory, which passed in an orderly manner and without incidents, the ministry said.

The UN secretary-general "asked for the efficiency of interaction between relevant UN institutions and the Russian Defense Ministry in addressing humanitarian issues in Ukraine to be enhanced. Sergei Shoigu supported Mr. Guterres's request," it said.
