Energia Corporation website was subject to massive DDoS attack from foreign servers - Roscosmos

MOSCOW. March 4 (Interfax) - A DDoS attack was staged on the website of Russia's Energia Rocket and Space Corporation from foreign servers, the Roscosmos press service said, adding that the situation is now under the control of specialists.

"Last night, specialists from the Energia Rocket and Space Corporation named after S.P. Korolyov recorded a massive DDoS attack on the corporation's website from different IP addresses located abroad. The website is functioning stably now, and the infrastructure and all sections of the website are under specialists' control," the press service said.

The majority of the IP addresses behind this cyberattack are registered in various Western countries, primarily the United States, Canada, and Sweden, it said.

"All information about this incident will be forwarded to the relevant agencies, which will also identify the owner of the bot network which was used to stage the attack on the corporation's website. They will identify the beneficiary of this action as well," the press service said.

A large-scale DDoS attack on the website of the Russian State Space Corporation Roscosmos was reported on February 26. According to Roscosmos, the cyberattack was staged from Lviv in western Ukraine.

Roscosmos also said earlier that the Facebook account of Roscosmos head Dmitry Rogozin had been blocked.
