Intel suspends product shipments to Russia, Belarus

MOSCOW. March 4 (Interfax) - Intel Corp. has suspended shipments of its products to customers in Russia and Belarus, the U.S. tech giant said in a statement on its website.

"We have suspended all shipments to customers in both Russia and Belarus," the company said.

"We are working to support all of our employees through this difficult situation, especially those with close ties to this region," Intel said.

The company did not provide more detailed information about the suspension of its operations in Russia and Belarus. Intel's Russian office has also not commented on the situation so far.

Intel's Russian subsidiary, Intel Technologies currently has about 60 employees, the SPARK-Interfax system showed. The company closed 2020 with a net profit of 67 million rubles on revenue of 1 billion rubles. However, most Intel products are not sold through the Russian subsidiary, but rather within the computer equipment of various manufacturers.

German enterprise software company SAP and U.S. software giant Oracle Corp. have also announced that they are suspending operations in Russia.
