U.S. announces full blocking sanctions against Rotenbergs, Usmanov, Chemezov, Prigozhin, Tokarev, Peskov - White House

WASHINGTON. March 4 (Interfax) - The White House said on Thursday that it is introducing full blocking sanctions against Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov and Russian businessmen Yevgeny Prigozhin, Boris Rotenberg, Arkady Rotenberg, and Alisher Usmanov.

The U.S. sanctions also apply to Rostec head Sergei Chemezov, VEB.RF chairman Igor Shuvalov, Transneft head Nikolai Tokayev and their family members.

"These individuals and their family members will be cut off from the U.S. financial system, their assets in the United States will be frozen and their property will be blocked from use," the White House said in a statement.

The U.S. has also announced visa restrictions on 19 Russian oligarchs and 47 members of their families and close associates.

"The United States and governments all over the world will work to identify and freeze the assets Russian elites and their family members hold in our respective jurisdictions," it said.

Furthermore, the U.S. announced blocking sanctions against seven Russian entities and 26 individuals, who are based in Russia or Ukraine and play leading roles in these organizations, for "disinformation". These entities include Strategic Culture Foundation, Rhythm of Eurasia and Journal Kamerton.
