Pacific Fleet's air defense deters mock airstrike in Kamchatka
PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY. March 4 (Interfax) - S-400 Triumf air defense missile systems have had a scheduled exercise in Kamchatka to train deterrence of a mock airstrike and protection of Pacific Fleet submarines, the Pacific Fleet press service said in a statement on Friday.
"In the course of the drill, an S-400 battalion marched from a positioning area to a new site and deployed launchers. The new position was camouflaged, and the Triumf missile defense systems were prepared for engagement," the press service said.
S-400 Triumf crews trained air defense of a Pacific Fleet submarine base and deterrence of a mock airstrike by electronic launches of guided air defense missiles.
More than 200 servicemen and ten pieces of military and special hardware took part in the exercise.
