Russian military trains detection of hidden mock enemy sites in Tajikistan

YEKATERINBURG. March 4 (Interfax) - Signals units and Orlan-10 drone operators from the Russian military base in Tajikistan have had a drill in the mountains, the Central Military District's press service said in a statement on Friday.

"More than 500 servicemen and over a hundred pieces of military and special hardware took part in the training," the press service said.

Drones reconnoitered the area from an altitude of up to 1,500 meters, it said.

"The information was transmitted to an operator on the ground, and the commands ordered that the detected sites be neutralized and destroyed. Optical and infrared cameras were used to search for covertly moving groups of saboteurs, caches and important military sites of a mock enemy hidden in the mountains," the press service said.

Meanwhile, signals units trained camouflaging of command posts.

"Specialists launched drones carrying re-transmitters to increase the signal range in the mountains," the press service said.
