Russia, Ukraine will soon agree on civilian evacuation of fighting zones - Slutsky

MOSCOW. March 4 (Interfax) - The defense ministries of Russia and Ukraine will soon coordinate a withdrawal of civilian population through humanitarian corridors, State Duma Foreign Affairs Committee head Leonid Slutsky said.

"Literally very soon, I am sure that the sides, primarily our defense ministries, will undertake whatever is necessary for the safe withdrawal of people through humanitarian corridors from these zones," Slutsky told journalists after a second round of bilateral talks held in Brest region, Belarus, on Thursday.

Every effort will be made to launch such corridors as soon as possible, he said.

"As for humanitarian issues, literally every hour counts. We'll make all possible efforts for launching humanitarian corridors as soon as possible," he said.
