Belarusian troops not fighting in Ukraine - military commissar
MINSK. March 3 (Interfax) - Gomel region's military commissar Andrei Krivonosov has dismissed rumors about Belarusian troops participating in the military operation in Ukraine.
"Following public queries received by military commissariats as to whether Belarusian servicemen are taking part in hostilities outside Belarus, I hereby reply: the personnel of the Gomel garrison are at their bases, performing tasks in accordance with the 2021-22 training plan," Krivonosov was quoted by the BelTA state news agency as saying on Thursday.
Yesterday his counterpart in Brest region, Oleg Konovalov, dismissed rumors about a forthcoming mobilization and preparation for hostilities. "Our military units are not being put on high alert, practically all are at their bases, except several units which are assisting organs of the Border Guard Service," he said.
