Kremlin not considering nationalization of foreign citizens' assets - Peskov

MOSCOW. March 3 (Interfax) - The Kremlin is not considering nationalization of foreign citizens' assets, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"I know nothing about this, and the Kremlin is not considering this option. All issues related to the sanctions and minimization of the damage they do, they are being discussed and decisions are being made in the government's operative headquarters led by [Prime Minister Mikhail] Mishustin," Peskov said at a press briefing on Thursday.

He thus answered a question about the statement by Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev who proposed that a freeze on the assets of foreign citizens and foreign companies or even nationalization of assets of "parties registered in unfriendly jurisdictions" be considered as a response to the freeze on Russian assets abroad.
