Russian delegation still waiting for Ukrainian team - Peskov

MOSCOW. March 3 (Interfax) - The Russian delegation is still waiting for the Ukrainian negotiating team to continue the talks, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

"Our delegation was at the site yesterday evening. They waited for the Ukrainian negotiators yesterday evening, they waited for them last night, they waited in the morning. They are still waiting. As you know, the negotiations have not begun yet. The Ukrainian negotiators are clearly not hurrying. But we will hope that they will still come today," Peskov said during a press conference on Thursday, responding to a request from Interfax to comment on the prospects of the second round of the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations.

He also answered a question as to whether Russia is ready to accept the mediation efforts of Kazakhstan or Turkey for holding talks on the territories of these countries.

"The venue is secondary in this case. The main thing is the fact of the meeting. You know that the first round was held. We are appreciative to the Belarusian side for creating wonderful conditions for negotiations. We have no doubt that the same conditions will be created this time. But the venue is secondary. The main thing is talks, and the main thing is the content of negotiations," he said.
