Russian troops have strict orders to only use high-precision weapons - Lavrov

MOSCOW. March 3 (Interfax) - The Russian troops in Ukraine have strict orders to only use high-precision weapons and not make strikes even on barracks where Ukrainian troops are located, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Thursday.

"Any human life is priceless, any military action, unfortunately, is associated with casualties, and not only military, but also civilian. Our troops who are involved in the special operation have strict orders to only use high-precision weapons to suppress military infrastructure, and even barracks where Ukrainian troops are located are not subject to any attack, any strikes," Lavrov said in an interview with Russian and Western media on Thursday.

"I can only extend condolences to everyone who are relatives, loved ones [of those killed]," the Russian minister said.

"I don't justify any actions that lead to deaths of civilians, but it wasn't us who invented the expression 'collateral damage', it was invented by our Western colleagues during their escapades in Iraq and previously in other countries, previously in Latin America, in Libya," he said.
