Over 100 Ukrainian planes, drones destroyed during Russian operation - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. March 3 (Interfax) - Russian troops have destroyed 53 drones and 62 planes in the course of the operation in Ukraine, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.

"Forty-nine planes have been destroyed on the ground, in addition to 13 planes destroyed in mid-air. Also, 53 unmanned aerial vehicles have been destroyed," Konashenkov said.

In all, 1,612 Ukrainian military sites have been hit during the operation, he said.

"These include 62 command and communication posts of the Ukrainian army, 39 S-300, Buk M-1 and Osa air defense missile systems, and 52 radar stations," Konashenkov said.

In addition, "606 tanks and other types of combat armored vehicles, 67 rocket launchers, 227 artillery weapons and mortars, and 405 special military vehicles have been destroyed," he said.
