Masks still to be worn indoors, ban on public events persists in Moscow

MOSCOW. March 3 (Interfax) - Restrictions on public events and mandatory wearing of masks indoors and in public transport will continue in Moscow despite the scrapping of certain coronavirus-related rules, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in his order.

According to the document published on the city government website, there will still be a ban on public events and hookah smoking in restaurants, bars, cafes and other public places.

The wearing of personal protective equipment (masks or respirators) inside buildings and on indoor premises selling goods, works and services, public transport, railroad infrastructure (railroad terminals, stations, platforms, pedestrian crossings, bridges and tunnels), taxis and vehicles chartered to transport passengers or cargo remains mandatory, the order said.

Social distancing still needs to be maintained, and employers must continue to screen temperature of their staff and to ensure the wearing of personal protective equipment. The restrictions imposed by the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) also remain valid.
