Stable communications ensured between Russian Western Military District's units, Baltic Fleet at drills

MOSCOW. March 3 (Interfax) - Specialists of the Russian Western Military District's signal troops conducted a large-scale radio training exercise, which focused on maintaining communications between the military district's command centers, Air Force and Air Defense units, combined-arms units, and the Russian Baltic Fleet as part of the unified day of the specialist.

"A large-scale radio training exercise was held by forces of the Western Military District," the military district said in a statement on Wednesday.

Its participants "practiced maintaining stable and uninterrupted communications between the district's command centers, Air Force and Air Defense units, combined-arms units, and the Baltic Fleet," it said.

The exercise "also included disguising field command and defense positions from mock enemy unmanned aerial vehicles," it said.

The training exercise, which was routine, involved more than 700 servicemen and some 150 pieces of specialized military equipment such as P-260 Redut, Andromeda and Belozer systems, the military district's headquarters said.
