The Village website blocked in Russia

MOSCOW. March 2 (Interfax) - Russia's telecommunications watchdog Roskomnadzor has blocked the website of The Village media outlet in Russia after adding it to the register of prohibited information, the media outlet said.

"The Village appeared on Roskomnadzor's register for out-of-court blockings, it adds [websites] there due to spreading information prohibited in Russia. Our website is temporarily down in Russia. We're dealing with the situation," The Village said.

The media outlet said that it did not receive any notifications from Roskomnadzor.

The websites of the TV Rain television channel (added to the list of foreign agent media by the Russian Justice Ministry) and the Ekho Moskvy radio station were blocked in Russia earlier. The latter's broadcast in Russia was stopped.

The Village is a website containing information about cultural and social events, entertainment, services, food, and people in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and other large cities.

The Village's editorial office said on February 24 that it was temporarily suspending publications of entertainment articles due to the situation in Ukraine.
