EU sanctions 22 Belarusian military officials
BRUSSELS. March 2 (Interfax) - The European Union has announced sanctions against 22 Belarusian military officials on Wednesday, the Official Journal of the European Union said.
In particular, the Belarusian defense minister's assistant for ideological work in the Armed Forces Gen. Maj. Leonid Kasinsky, the Belarusian defense minister's assistant for finance Gen. Maj. Igor Mozhilovsky, Belarusian defense minister's assistant for international cooperation Gen. Maj. Oleg Voinov, and deputy commander of the Belarusian Air Force and Air Defense Forces Col. Dmitry Mikholap are among those sanctioned.
In addition, sanctions also applied to Commander of the Troops of the North-Western Operational Command of Belarus, Maj. Gen. Alexander Naumenko, Chief of Staff - First Deputy Commander of the Troops of the North-Western Operational Command of Belarus Col. Vadim Shadura, head of Armaments Directorate of North-Western Operational Command of Belarus Col. Dmitry Surovich, and first deputy head of the Ministry of Defense Main Financial and Economic Department Dmitry Zabrotsky.
