Russia analyzes response to hostile measures yet 'no one is going to shoot oneself in the foot' - Peskov

MOSCOW. March 2 (Interfax) - Moscow is analyzing a response to the sanctions and hostile measures, yet the response will not harm Russian interests, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"Judging from the measures taken against us by many countries, all of them are de facto unfriendly, whether they are listed as [unfriendly countries] or not. In this case, the list is not essential for this. Still, measures against these unfriendly or, as we in Russia say, hostile, moves need to be analyzed. No one is going to shoot oneself in the foot just to spite somebody," Peskov said at a press briefing on Wednesday.

Journalists asked Peskov whether Russia was going to broaden the list of unfriendly countries in the context of the latest sanctions.

Russia does what's necessary and advantageous for it and "has a cool head," he said.
