Russian military helicopters practice in Tajikistan

YEKATERINBURG. March 2 (Interfax) - Attack and military transport helicopters from the Russian military base in Tajikistan have trained the destruction of ECM systems of a mock enemy, the Central Military District press service said on Wednesday.

"Mil Mi-24 attack helicopters and Mi-8MTV5-1 military transport helicopters have performed combat training flights to the Sambuli range. Having performed visual reconnaissance of the area, the helicopter crews fired unguided missiles and destroyed hidden ECM systems of a mock enemy," the press service said.

Pilots of the 201st military base flew solo and in twos and simulated missile strikes at the mock enemy's ECM systems, it said.

"About 100 servicemen supported the flights; the practice involved over ten pieces of military hardware and aircraft," the press service said.
