Russian Prosecutor General's Office demands restriction of access to Ekho Moskvy, TV Rain websites

MOSCOW. March 1 (Interfax) - The Russian Prosecutor General's Office has asked the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor) to restrict access to the websites of the Ekho Moskvy radio station and the TV Rain channel, which is designated as a foreign-agent media, the oversight agency told Interfax.

"Due to the purposeful and systematic posting of information containing calls for extremist activities, violence, as well as knowingly false information regarding the actions of Russian servicemen during a special operation to protect the DPR and LPR [the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics] on the websites of Ekho Moskvy and TV Rain channel, the Russian Prosecutor General's Office [...] filed requests with the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media to undertake measures to restrict access to the aforementioned information resources," the Prosecutor General's Office said.
