Russian, Belarusian energy ministers discuss creation of common gas market

MINSK. March 1 (Interfax) - Belarusian Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich, Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Vladimir Semashko, and Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov discussed the creation of a common energy market in Moscow on Tuesday, the press service for the Belarusian Energy Ministry said.

"The conditions for bilateral cooperation within the framework of implementing union programs to create common energy markets were discussed. In particular, the parties discussed key issues concerning the formation and regulation of a unified natural gas market," the press service said.

The parties also outlined further steps to agree on common approaches toward the development of integration processes in the sphere of gas, it said.
