Russia hasn't even elaborated many retaliatory measures to Western sanctions yet - Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. March 1 (Interfax) - Moscow has not yet completed the elaboration of retaliatory measures to Western sanctions, but they will be an "ultimate boomerang" for the countries that imposed them, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on Tuesday.

"These retaliatory measures [sanctions] have no legal grounds, and in fact they have nothing to do with the current situation. They are a follow-up to the policy pursued by the West against our country. They are all beyond any legal regulations and rules," she said on the Rossiya-24 (VGTRK) television channel.

"They should realize that the restrictive measures that they have now imposed on our country are not only illegal, not only immoral, [...] but that they will backfire as an ultimate boomerang and will hit and are already hitting their own countries. Not only in the form of our countermeasures, many of which have not even been worked out yet," Zakharova said.
