Peskov says hasn't heard of Duma deputies' call for dismissing officials, state corp. employees who disagree with Russian operation in Ukraine

MOSCOW. March 1 (Interfax) - Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said he is unaware of a call of Russian deputies for dismissing officials and state corporation employees and imposing sanctions on businessmen who disagree with the Russian military operation in Ukraine.

"I have no knowledge of such initiatives of the State Duma," Peskov said.

Journalists quoted State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin who said that people who signed anti-war petitions were "traitors."

"I can't comment on that and I have no knowledge of such a legislative initiative," Peskov said.

Journalists asked whether such petitions from various social groups were reaching Putin.

"They are easily accessible in media digests," Peskov said.
