GROZNY. March 1 (Interfax) - Head of Russia's internal republic of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov has said that two Chechen servicemen have died and another six have been wounded during the Russian special operation in Ukraine.

"As regards casualties. Regrettably, there are already casualties among natives of the Chechen Republic. Two have died and another six have sustained various wounds," Kadyrov said on Telegram.

"Yes, soldiers get killed in war, and it was their choice of a profession. These guys chose to become heroes, who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the security of the two countries. They were given an order to minimize casualties among the civilian population of Ukraine, and they carried out this order," Kadyrov said.
