Russian court upholds 7.2-bln-ruble revenue-based fine imposed on Google

MOSCOW. Feb 28 (Interfax) - The Tagansky Court of Moscow has upheld a turnover-based fine of 7.2 billion rubles imposed on Google over its repeated failure to delete content designated as illegal in Russia.

"The court dismissed the appeal filed by a representative of Google LLC," court spokesperson Zulfiya Gurinchuk told Interfax.

The court found no reason to cancel the company's revenue-based fine and to drop the case. The ruling has entered into force.

A similar court ruling that imposed a revenue-based fine of nearly two billion rubles on Meta took effect earlier.
