Ukrainian mobile operators did not notify Russian partners of blocking roaming services to Russian users - sources

MOSCOW. Feb 28 (Interfax) - Ukrainian mobile operators did not notify their partners in Russia of the blocking of roaming services to Russian users in Ukraine, sources on the Russian telecommunications market told Interfax.

The Ukrainian mobile operators Kyivstar, Vodafone Ukraine, and Lifecell said they blocked users from Russia and Belarus from registering in their networks.

"Indeed, our Ukrainian partners disabled international roaming service for Russian subscribers and did not send an official letter about it to Russian operators," a source said.

"No notification in line with standard procedures has come. Moreover, even though only new registrations of Russian subscribers in Ukrainian operators' networks were disabled first, roaming was later disabled completely," another source said.
