Kyiv's position at talks with Russia is ceasefire, withdrawal of Russian troops - advisor to chief of Zelensky's office

KYIV. Feb 28 (Interfax) - Kyiv's position at the negotiations with Russia is a ceasefire and the withdrawal of Russian forces from Ukrainian territory, Oleksiy Arestovych, advisor to the chief of the Ukrainian Presidential Office, said on Monday.

Speaking on the Current Time (designated as a foreign agent media outlet in Russia] television channel, Arestovych said that no details of the negotiations would be made public before the parties issue a joint communique, in line with international conventions, including the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

"Let's not break the rules. Our position is more or less clear: no preconditions and ultimatums," the publication quoted Arestovych as saying on Monday.

Ukraine insists on a ceasefire and the withdrawal of all Russian forces from Ukrainian territory, and "this is on the table on the Ukrainian side," he said.

Taking follow-up questions from the program's host, Arestovych said this meant, in particular, the withdrawal of Russian forces from Crimea and Donbas.
