Kazakhstan ready to broker Ukrainian-Russian talks, but no agreement on this yet - Kazakh Foreign Ministry

NUR-SULTAN. Feb 28 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan could provide a venue for negotiations between Ukraine and Russia if the negotiating parties need this, Kazakh Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tleuberdi said.

"Of course, the human losses are of great concern. It is clear that both the Russian and Ukrainian peoples are fraternal nations for us, so we are certainly worried. For our part, we stand ready to assist in any way we can, so that [our] mediating services can be used. We stand ready to provide a platform for negotiations if it is deemed necessary by both parties," Tleuberdi is quoted as saying by Kazakh Foreign Ministry spokesperson Aibek Smadiyarov to reporters.

"The minister added that there are no agreements on this issue yet," the Kazakh Foreign Ministry spokesperson said.
