Belarusian FM, on behalf of Lukashenko, vows safety to Russian, Ukrainian negotiating teams - online broadcast

MINSK. Feb 28 (Interfax) - Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei assured the Ukrainian and Russian delegations who came for negotiations to Belarus that they may feel absolutely safe.

"You may feel absolutely safe here. This is our divine duty," Makei said addressing the delegations.

The Belarusian state-run news agency BelTA provided online coverage of the meeting.

Makei emphasized in particular that he was speaking on behalf of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, who "hopes sincerely that today's meeting would help find ways to settle all the crisis matters."

"Any of your requests and proposals concerning the organization of today's meeting will be accepted and fulfilled without objections," Makei said.
