Some 127,000 refugees cross into Russia from Donbas - Emergency Situations Ministry

ROSTOV-ON-DON. Feb 28 (Interfax) - Over 127,000 refugees from the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) have crossed into Russia since the start of the evacuation campaign, Russian Deputy Emergency Situations Minister Anatoly Suprunovsky told journalists.

"At the moment, about 127,000 [refugees from Donbas] have arrived in Russian territory," Suprunovsky said at a meeting of the office of the presidential representative to the Southern Federal District said.

The DPR and LPR authorities on February 18 organized the evacuation to Russia of the local population, primarily women, children, and the elderly.
