Peskov redirects to Russian Defense Ministry question on possible opening of emergency communication channel between it and Pentagon

MOSCOW. Feb 28 (Interfax) - Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said he does not have information about the Pentagon's initiative to open an emergency communication channel between the defense agencies of Russia and the United States and recommended asking the Russian Defense Ministry about the details.

"Such channel operated quite successfully during Syria [conflict], when our [and U.S.] troops carried out combat tasks in close proximity to each other. It was efficient. As for the details now, I don't have them and suggest you ask the Defense Ministry the same question," Peskov told journalists on Monday, answering a question about the validity of information circulating in media outlets.
