Peskov: No reasons to doubt Central Bank's efficiency

MOSCOW. Feb 28 (Interfax) - There are no reasons at the moment to doubt the efficiency of the Russian Central Bank's actions in the wake of the sanctions imposed on Russia, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

"So far, we've had no reasons to doubt our Central Bank's efficiency and reliability. There are no reasons to doubt its efficiency now, either," Peskov told journalists on Monday, answering how the Kremlin views the Central Bank's decisions in general and those concerning the key rate in particular.

"Russia has conducted orderly preparations for possible sanctions for quite a long time, including for the hardest possible sanctions, which we're facing now. Therefore, response plans do exist, they've been prepared and developed and are being implemented now as particular problems arise," he said.

Peskov was asked whether the government is planning to take some steps to support the citizens or the national economy.

"Nothing has happened to us yet," Peskov replied.
