Covid-19 incidence rate in Russia down by nearly 28% over past week - coronavirus response HQ

MOSCOW. Feb 28 (Interfax) - The Covid-19 incidence rate per 100,000 people in Russia declined by 27.6% and the rate of hospitalizations by 23.7% over the past week compared to the previous week, the coronavirus response HQ said in a statement on Monday.

"The coronavirus infection incidence rate was 596.45 per 100,000 population over the past week, which is 27.6% lower than in the previous week. The incidence rate increased in eight federal entities, including an increase in six entities above the national average," it said.

The rate of hospitalizations per 100,000 population over the past week was 58.6, which is 23.7% lower than in the previous week, it said.

Russia recorded a total of 106,920 daily cases of coronavirus on Monday, with the number of related daily hospitalizations going down to 6,382, which is 17.6% less than the day before.
