Ukrainian border guards who abandoned their military service keep arriving in Russia

MOSCOW. Feb 27 (Interfax) - Nine Ukrainian border guards have abandoned their service and arrived in the Rostov Region and Crimea in Russia, the Federal Security Service (FSB) Public Relations Center told Interfax.

"Ukrainian border guards who fled their deployment sites continue to arrive on Russian territory. On February 27, nine Ukrainian State Border Service servicemen who refused to perform further military service in Ukraine arrived across the Russian state border in the Rostov Region and the Republic of Crimea," the FSB Public Relations Center said.

On Thursday, the FSB said that Ukrainian border guards were leaving their deployment sites. Some of them are arriving in Russia.

Thus, 26 servicemen of the Ukrainian State Border Service arrived at the Troebortnoye checkpoint in the Bryansk region, and 16 servicemen arrived at a checkpoint in Crimea, the FSB said.

On Saturday, the FSB Public Relations Center said that a Ukrainian serviceman was shot by nationalists while attempting to cross the border, and a Russian border guard was injured.
