Russian Defense Ministry records Ukrainian Armed Forces using torture, ill-treatment of Russian soldiers

MOSCOW. Feb 27 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Armed Forces are abusing and torturing Russian soldiers, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"But we know how Ukrainian Nazis treat the few captured Russian servicemen. And we see that the abuses and torture are the same as those of the German Nazis and their henchmen-policemen during the Great Patriotic War," Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.

"All faces, voices, phone numbers, their coordinates, IP addresses, as well as correspondence of all Ukrainian Nazis involved in torturing our comrades are being recorded and identified," he said.

"This also concerns the leaders of the Kyiv regime and their executors directly calling for torturing Russian servicemen in violation of the convention on the treatment of prisoners of war," Konashenkov said.

"All of you will be found and will be inevitably held severely responsible," the Russian Defense Ministry spokesman said.

The Russian military, for their part, will continue to "treat all the servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces who have laid down their arms with dignity," he said.

"We understand that they took an oath to the people of Ukraine. All those who laid down arms and stopped their resistance will be returned to their families," Konashenkov said.
