Ireland closes its airspace for Russia aircraft - FM

BRUSSELS. Feb 27 (Interfax) - The Irish government has made a decision to close its airspace for Russian aircraft, Irish Foreign Minister Simon Coveney said.

"Ireland will move to shut off Irish airspace to all Russian aircraft," Coveney said on Twiter.

Ireland supports the new sanction package against Russia which is to be agreed on Sunday by EU foreign ministers, he said.

According to Ireland's RTE news service, the decision to close the airspace will take effect after the notification is provided.
