Memorial council head reports detention at picket near Federation Council

MOSCOW. Feb 26 (Interfax) - Police have detained Oleg Orlov, the chairman of the council of the Memorial human rights center, which is recognized as foreign agent NGO in Russia and liquidated at the decision of the Russian Supreme Court, at a picket near the Federation Council in downtown Moscow.

"I was detained. I have been just taken [to a police station]. We are already at the Tverskoi district police station," Orlov said, adding that Anna Frolova and Yevgeny Onikeyev were detained together with him at the picket against the military operation in Ukraine.
