U.S. drones might have directed Ukrainian boats attacking Russian Black Sea Fleet ships - Russian Defense Ministry
MOSCOW. Feb 26 (Interfax) - The Russian Defense Ministry believes that American combat and reconnaissance drones helped Ukrainian boats attack Russian Black Sea Fleet ships.
"I'd like to bring it to your attention that, during the Ukrainian boat attack, U.S. strategic unmanned aerial vehicles, such as RQ-4 Global Hawk and MQ-9A Reaper, were flying above the provocation area," Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.
"There is every likelihood that it's precisely the U.S. drones that directed the Ukrainian boats attacking the Russian Black Sea Fleet ships," he said.
