Sanctions serious but we are ready - Peskov

MOSCOW. Feb 26 (Interfax) - Most of the recent sanctions imposed on Russia were predictable, Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said.

"The sanctions are quite serious, the waves of sanctions which followed over the past few days. We, too, were preparing for them seriously and in advance. So, basically they are predictable," Peskov told journalists on Saturday.

"What is needed now is additional analysis, coordinated work between relevant authorities," he said.

"Certainly, urgent measures are in place to minimize the damage from these sanctions, for all sectors and systems of our economy to function smoothly. There is every possibility and potential for that. It was created well beforehand and readied for such situations. Next, analysis will be required to work out such response measures as will best match our interests," Peskov said.
