CSTO crisis reaction mechanisms should work normally - Pashinyan

YEREVAN. Feb 25 (Interfax) - It is important that the rapid reaction mechanisms of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) should function normally, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.

"I am glad that the CSTO crisis reaction mechanisms are finally working. You know that it was a priority of Armenian chairmanship. We have always thought and still think that the CSTO crisis rapid reaction mechanisms should work normally," Pashinyan said at a meeting with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Friday.

Pashinyan said that "Armenia was in a situation [the war in Karabakh] when it thought that this mechanism should work, which, unfortunately, did not happen," the government press service said.

"After that, we became the country chairing the CSTO and we said it was our priority. I am very glad that we could use this mechanism when it was necessary," Pashinyan said.
