Lavrov to visit Geneva to take part in 2 int'l events early next week - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Feb 25 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will visit Geneva on February 28 - March 1, where he is to take part in a high-level session of the United Nations Human Rights Council and a conference on disarmament, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on Friday.

"Lavrov will visit Geneva from February 28 to March 1, where he will take part in a high-level segment of the 49th session of the UN Human Rights Council and will speak at a conference on disarmament," Zakharova said at a press briefing.

"He plans a conversation with UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Ms. [Michelle] Bachelet and a number of bilateral meetings with his foreign counterparts," she said.

As per tradition, Lavrov will also meet with the heads of international organizations based in Geneva, she said.
