About 200 motions lodged with Moscow courts re unsanctioned demonstration participants - Moscow City Court

MOSCOW. Feb 25 (Interfax) - About 200 administrative motions have been lodged by Moscow courts in regard to participants in an unsanctioned demonstration that took place in the city center on Thursday, the Moscow City Court's press service told Interfax.

"As of this moment, district courts in Moscow have received about 200 administrative motions. All of them are being processed by judges," the press service said.

According to the Moscow City Court, almost 99% of the administrative motions are based on Part 5 Article 20.2 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offenses (a violation of rally regulations by a public event participant). About ten motions are based on Part 2 or Part 8 of Article 20.2 (organization or holding of a public event without due notification and a repeat violation of the kind), on Article 19.3 (disobedience to a lawful order of a police officer) or on Article 20.1 (petty hooliganism) of the Russian Code of Administrative Offenses. These actions are penalized with a fine or an administrative arrest.
