Russia to ensure demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine - Lavrov

MOSCOW. Feb 25 (Interfax) - Russia will ensure the demilitarization of Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

"We want the Ukrainian people or, as [Russian] President Vladimir Putin has said, all peoples who live in the territory of contemporary Ukraine to have an opportunity to determine their future freely and without encountering attempts to drive them into the claws of the Bandera psychology," Lavrov said at a press conference in Moscow on Friday.

"Russia will ensure the demilitarization of Ukraine. Russia will ensure the denazification of Ukraine. We suffered from Nazism too much, and the Ukrainian people also suffered from Nazism, and we cannot turn a blind eye and carelessly look at all this," Lavrov said.
