Russian countersanctions against U.S., EU to be based on national interests - Peskov

MOSCOW. Feb 25 (Interfax) - Russian countersanctions against the United States and the European Union will be based on national interests, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"Naturally, countermeasures will follow. Of course, the reciprocity principle will apply. As to whether the measures are symmetric or asymmetric, that will depend on an analysis," Peskov said. "Restrictions have yet to be analyzed," he said.

"The primary objective of this analysis is our own interests. All our actions will be based on national interests," Peskov said.
