DPR militia suppressed Ukrainian army's firing points in over 10 localities of DPR - militia spokesman Basurin

DONETSK. Feb 25 (Interfax) - Artillery strikes mounted by forces of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) have suppressed the Ukrainian army's firing points in more than ten towns and villages of the republic, DPR militia spokesman Eduard Basurin told reporters on Friday.

"Units of the people's militia have successfully suppressed the adversary's firing points in the vicinity of the localities of Mayorsk, Verkhnetoretske, Novomykhailivka, Avdiivka, Pisky, Krasnohorivka, Mariinka, Pervomaiske, Hnutove, Pavlopil, and Talakivka," Basurin told reporters on Friday.

DPR leader Denis Pushilin and head of the Luhansk People's Republic Leonid Pasechnik appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin for assistance on February 24. A special military operation began in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions jointly with the Russian Armed Forces.
