WASHINGTON, D.C. Feb 25 (Interfax) - Washington's export control restrictions on Russia will apply to semiconductors, computers, lasers, and sensors, which would affect Russia's defense, aerospace, and maritime sectors, the United States Department of Commerce said in a statement on Thursday.

The Bureau of Industry and Security's (BIS) "Russia-specific export control measures impose a policy of denial on sensitive items Moscow relies on for its defense, aerospace, and maritime industries," the department said.

"These items, many of which were not previously subject to controls when destined for Russia, include semiconductors, computers, telecommunications, information security equipment, lasers, and sensors," it said.
